Vice President, EH&S, Confidential Company, Houston, TX
A Confidential company is looking for an EHS VP. This position will report directly to the CEO. The ideal candidate is expected to live and breathe EH&S and is expected to drive the “Safety First" culture. S/he will act as a consultant to management and employees on the principles and concepts of EH&S management and direct the operating and compliance aspects of the EH&S programs. Some other responsibilities include providing functional (day to day) management of the EH&S department, managing the implementation of Process Safety Management in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119, and make sure certain Safety Management processes are developed and complied with (PHA, Project Review, etc.), along with a myriad of other responsibilities. A Bachelor's degree in safety management/engineering and 15+ years related experience; professional designation as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is required, along with a strong knowledge of Safety Management systems a plus. Experience in process safety management (PSM) system implementation and change management is a plus.

Dover Chemical Corp. has an opening for a salary exempt position of Corporate Environmental, Health and Safety Manager based at its Dover, OH manufacturing facility. The ideal person will also oversee second location in Hammond, IN. Dover Chemical Corporation is a global leader in lubricants, plastic additives, and other specialty chemicals used in a variety of industries and construction. Some responsibilities include developing and managing EHS strategy for two sites, which includes the communicating and facilitating of Corporate Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security policy and goals, designing, developing and implementing corporate and facility-level EHS management systems and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and applicable company requirements (e.g., Lockout/Tagout; Haz Com; SARA; TSCA RCRA; DOT; Responsible Care®). Other responsibilities include leading projects related to overall EHS strategy development, organizational design, external reporting, key performance indicators, benchmarking, business process redesign, and corporate EHS policies and standards, along with a myriad of other responsibilities. A minimum of a B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering preferred, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field. A minimum of 7-10 years of results-oriented experience in strategic planning and environmental management systems in manufacturing. Experience in a chemical manufacturing facility or refinery a plus. Must have in-depth knowledge of applicable EHS regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA, and DOT) along with the ability to establish relationships and a positive reputation within the industry as well as the legal and regulatory communities and outside consultants. CSP, CIH, CHMM with experience in EHS auditing desirable.
