The Director of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Compliance formulates and implements strategic EHS policies and related initiatives that will guide and govern City Departments through their day-to-day operations as they strive to provide a safe and healthy work environment in an environmentally sustainable manner. The Director of EHS Compliance is responsible for the whole City EHS System, which is initially focused on the infrastructure departments. The Director of EHS Compliance will report to the 2FM Deputy Commissioner of the EHS Management Bureau and oversee the 2FM EHS Compliance Division. Essential duties include directing the activities and supervises the staff of the 2FM EHS Compliance Division to manage the City EHS System and developing and implementing EHS policies based on industry standards/best practices and knowledge of City operations to govern a comprehensive City EHS System for the City of Chicago's non-sworn workforce. Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or a directly related field, plus five years of work experience managing EHS programs.
