China Plans Absolute CO2 Cap From 2016
China, the world's biggest emitter of climate-changing greenhouse gases, will set an absolute cap on its CO2 emissions from 2016, a top government adviser said. The target will be written into China's next five-year plan, which comes into force in 2016, He Jiankun, chairman of China's Advisory Committee on Climate Change, told a conference in Beijing. The essence of this role requires a highly motivated, people-oriented person for the proactive, practical application of ESSH commitment to the operation and to the day-to-day behaviors of all employees. This individual will provide leadership in developing, implementing, improving and managing ESSH policies, procedures, practices, and projects including nourishing a culture in which ESSH is an overriding value. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to providing technical support for on-going ESSH projects, problem solving, investigations including site inspections and audits, and activities and assisting in developing an effective ESSH communication process to make ESSH priorities and performance visible. Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Environmental or Occupational Safety is required along with 5 years' experience in chemical manufacturing or high-hazard environment. Training and certifications in OSHA, DOT, and RCRA are preferred.

The EHS Administrator will provide database expertise, precise data entry and records management, along with an advanced level of administrative support to the ESSH department. S/he will provide input into specific areas and utilizes processes to select available resources to achieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness in completing routine assignments and special projects/tasks. S/he will also operate independently with minimal direction as a member of the team/department to plan, organize and execute all tasks in the appropriate manner. Responsibilities include high accuracy data entry and data management into computer software programs (i.e.; information databases, spreadsheets) and database management and maintenance as well as the ability to create and problem solve various items. Strong understanding of ESSH best practices preferred along with a Bachelor's degree or 5 + years of work experience. HSA preferred.
