Green Diamond Resource Company is a fifth-generation, family-owned forest products company. They are looking for an EHS Manager. The Environmental Health and Safety Manager manages the environmental health and safety program for the California operations of Green Diamond Resource Company (GDRCo) and California Redwood Company (CRC) to assure compliance with applicable environmental, Cal-OSHA and Federal OSHA regulations, laws and requirements. The position is responsible for the application of all Company policies, practices and procedures. Environmental duties include environmental monitoring, evaluating and updating any/all permit conditions, state and federal environmental laws and regulations including CRC/GDRCo environmental policies. Safety duties include the application of all Cal and Federal OSHA rules and regulations to assure safety compliance at all California operations. Manages, participated in, and administers the self-insured Worker's Compensation program for the CA operations. The ideal candidate works as a consultant to operations and provide effective leadership and direction to the safety and environmental objectives and goals for the GDRCo and CRC operations. BA or BS degree in environmental science or related field such as industrial technology/safety or engineering degree is required along with five years' work experience in an industrial setting with environment health and safety responsibilities. Hold Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation or gain within 18 months plus HAZWOPER certification and Certified Level I Water Treatment Operator required. The position is responsible for leading safety efforts at all Trulite facilities to reduce incident rate and maintaining the highest safety environment for our employees. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all Safety activities for multiple plants. Duties include developing, implementing, communicating, and monitoring Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) and Driver safety programs and policies. Other duties include ensuring compliance to government environmental and safety regulations (OSHA, DOT), developing and conducting employee training, responds to emergencies, assists in accident investigations, and recommending corrective and preventive action. Interface with federal, state and local agencies on EH&S issues including reports and audits. BS in Engineering, Industrial Safety or a technically related field required along with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience creating and managing environmental health and safety programs in a manufacturing environment. CSP preferred.

The Director of Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) is a manager in the Office of the President Risk Services with principal responsibility for providing system-wide direction, coordination, guidance, assistance and expert consultation to the campuses, hospitals, national laboratory and the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources through timely and efficient interaction with their EH&S departments. S/he will develop overall environment, health and safety strategic strategies that meet the needs of the University and leverage resources and assists the campuses to produce best in class programs. The ideal candidate will also analyze areas of high risk or exposure using appropriate metrics and modify strategies to maintain flexibility in programs. Other duties include assisting in the development of internal policies and tools necessary to implement strategic environment, health and safety initiatives to maintain a safe and healthy environment for faculty, staff, students, patients, and all UC visitors and protecting the University against losses and ensures all university operations are in compliance with applicable federal, state and local codes and regulations. B.S. in relevant EH&S-type technical field required. Certification in Industrial Hygiene (CIH) or Safety (CSP) required. Ten (10) years experience in EH&S setting with five (5) years in a supervisory role preferred; preferably in an academic environment. Experience as a CIH or CSP in large and diverse organizations, preferably in a higher education research institution. Must possess highly specialized multidisciplinary knowledge of IH, toxicology, hazard evaluation, risk assessment and safety & health program development, implementation and maintenance. Advanced degree preferred.
