The Western US Regional EHS Professional will be responsible for developing and leading continuous improvement initiatives throughout EMC's Western US operations by building and maintaining the environmental, health & safety infrastructure, ensuring compliance with EHS laws and regulations, as well as developing and delivering best practices. The emphasis will be to work with the North America EHS Senior Manager, and Global EHS Director, to set policy for environmental, health and safety activities within the business. The Western US Regional EHS Professional will not only support overall EHS function and the Real Estate and Facilities Management Team, but will interact with business units across EMC. The position will be looked at as a subject matter expert and professional point of contact, supporting business functions and acting as a liaison to external EHS agencies, industry organizations, and peer groups. This position must be able to work with minimal supervision.

The Director will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing EH&S procedures, programs, processes, and systems to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements and to eliminate or minimize EH&S risks to the Company, its employees, the environment and the communities in which it does business. The ideal candidate will demonstrate in-depth knowledge, understanding and application of environment, health and safety and workers' compensation laws and regulations and translates them into actionable processes, programs and practices and drives the understanding and implementation of the Cardinal Health EH&S management system. A Bachelor's and Advanced degree in related field or equivalent work experience is preferred. 12 years experience in related field, preferred experience implementing and managing proven EH&S programs and solutions in a corporate/multi-facility environment. Prior supervisory experience, preferred. Professional certification (CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent certification), preferred.

B.S. degree in technical discipline (occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental science, engineering or equivalent) required, a professional certification in safety (CSP) or industrial hygiene (CIH) preferred. A minimum of 8 years direct EH&S experience managing proven EH&S programs and solutions in a multi-facility environment is required. Must have strong substantive knowledge of regulations and guidance promulgated by Federal and State OSHA and EPA, EH&S management systems and workers' compensation requirements.

S/he will be responsible for overseeing a safe campus environment for physical hazards and facilitating research safety of over $700M annual expenditures. They will also monitor that university activities are conducted in compliance with applicable policy, regulations and statues through the development, implementation, and review of prevention control strategies and initiatives, as well as by establishing collaborative partnerships with other campus units or departments. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Occupational Health and Safety, Preventive Medicine or related field is required along with a minimum of 10 years' experience at comparable organization. Master's degree preferred. Professional certifications in a recognized related professional discipline preferred.
