Target Expands List of Chemicals It Wants Out of Consumer Goods
Target Corp. has expanded the list of chemicals it wants suppliers to take out of their products, stepping up pressure on its vendors to respond to consumer health concerns. For suppliers, complying with Target's program is a way to get more exposure. In exchange for cooperating, the retailer may be inclined to help promote their products or give them more shelf space. They are looking for an EHS Manager. This person will be responsible for EHS compliance across Bimeda N.A. operations. S/he will report directly to Group Projects Manager and will be responsible for communication of EHS performance with business units, senior managers & executive management as appropriate. S/he will also provide support and direction to all N.A. operations for EH&S issues. Other duties include being the lead coordinator for all EHS activities across the geographic remit and ensuring assigned projects are managed in conjunction with all required company and legal requirements (Health & Safety, construction, environmental etc.). This position requires a degree in Chemical Engineering/ Chemistry or a BA in Industrial Health or equivalent along with advanced training in handling of dangerous goods is preferred. 5-10 years' experience as a Safety Manager in a pharmaceutical or similar environment with a proven track record of delivering legislative compliance and best practice policies and programmes is also required. Direct Experience with EHS regulatory agencies is preferred. CSP / CRSP / CHSC designation preferred. Travel will be required - 25% or more.

McKesson is the oldest and largest health care services company in the nation. They are looking for an EHS Manager. The Sr. Manager, EH&S is responsible for developing, managing and supporting the McKesson safety and environmental policies and programs and collaborating with EH&S team members, BU and facility leaders on program oversight and implementation. McKesson Texas facility based preferred however, will consider Northeast, Mid-Atlantic or other McKesson location base for the right candidate. The idea candidate will participate in the development of McKesson EH&S policies and procedures and communicate safety and environmental objectives to business units and facilities as directed in the respective BU safety service plan and collaborates on safety planning and goal-setting. S/he will also advise and assist business unit, regional and facility managers on implementation and conformance with McKesson safety and environmental programs, and compliance with regulatory standards and recommend best practices to exceed minimum compliance requirements. Also teams with other functional leaders, including Human Resources, Risk Management, Real Estate / Facility Management, Regulatory Affairs and others as necessary to ensure that all aspects of safety and environmental issues within the region are addressed appropriately. 4 year degree in related field or equivalent experience along with 5+ years' experience in environmental health and safety and 2+ years managerial experience is required. Certified Hazardous Materials Management (CHMM) certification desirable - Must maintain and keep current DOT waste shipping and RCRA waste classification certifications.
