Communications Officer

The World Resources Institute seeks a Communications Officer to support the Business Center's mission to advance sustainable business strategies by developing and implementing communications strategies and supporting multiple communications channels (such as online, social media, blog, print publications, media relations, and events). The role will deliver increased impact by building awareness, understanding and engagement across WRI's programmatic areas for the private sector and will enhance WRI's value to corporate partners by ensuring the Institute's outputs are communicated in a manner and through channels fit for the business community. The Communications Officer will sit within the Business Center, and engage across all private sector-focused work at WRI, in close collaboration with WRI's global Communications Department. A Bachelor's degree required in journalism or other related field (ex: communications, public relations, business, economics, or environmental studies) along with a minimum 3-5 years full time relevant professional experience working in public relations, journalism, or communications with salient link to private sector interests. MS preferred. Experience getting stories and quotes placed in major media outlets a plus. Second language such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Mandarin a plus.
Divisional EHS Manager - Latin America

This SH&E Manager will set the direction and drive the execution of a safety culture within the Institutional business in collaboration with the senior leaders of the business, the region and the corporate SH&E leaders. Main responsibilities include planning, directing and managing the environmental, health and safety (EH&S) programs cascaded from the business and Corporate SH&E in collaboration with the region and market SH&E partners and providing direction and sets and executes strategy with the Institutional associates, with a strong focus on the Field Sales. You will also investigate accidents and promotes safety conscious work performance and training programs and collect and analyze safety performance measures to determine insight and action necessary. Undergraduate College or University degree or local equivalent in Occupational or Environmental Health/Safety or related field is required along with a recognized professional qualification in occupational SH&E or a related field with 8 or more years' experience, in a multinational company or a company with a large sales organization, MA preferred, Spanish/Portuguese preferred.
Environmental Health & Safety Supervisor

You will develop safety and health procedures, policies and training to assure compliance with governmental regulations. Assists in the development of EH&S course, schedules and tracks employee training and does a wide range of EH&S training. As the ideal candidate, you will also manage and implement the required training of team and ensures adherence to all policies, procedures and governmental regulations, and manage and implement career planning and personal development of staff. You will also be responsible for the Hearing Conservation Program - arranging for annual Audiometric testing, training and maintaining records and being responsible for follow-up. Bachelors preferred in Industrial Hygiene or Occupational Safety & Health is required along with 3-5 years' experience in similar role in an industrial/winery environment and two or more years supervising experience required. Bi-lingual English/Spanish required. Extensive walking and lifting of up to 55 pounds is needed.

Key responsibilities include broad expertise in safety and health compliance, practices, problem solving and verification, possessing an understanding and application of risk control principles and techniques as it relates to Hazard/Exposure Identification, Analysis, Control, Risk Assessment and Management and assisting clients in the development and implementation of written HSE policies, programs and practices. 5 -10 years of comprehensive Health, Safety, Environmental and risk control consulting experience supporting customers across multiple industries is required as well as a BS degree in safety related sciences, engineering, related field, or equivalent. Certifications like ASP, CSP, ARM, ALCM etc., or willingness to work towards obtaining them within twelve months are required.
