U.S., Mexico, Canada Pledge 50 Percent Clean Power by 2025

TSCA Reform Finally Signed Into Law
The Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act updates the Toxic Substances Control Act, which had not been reauthorized since the mid-1970s. The new law gives the Environmental Protection Agency more oversight and stronger tools to monitor chemicals that in some cases could cause cancer and other health problems in adults and children. Strong database, spreadsheet and other IT skills is needed for successful job execution. A Technical or Bachelor’s Degree in EHS or engineering, with focus on environmental or closely related discipline is required with a post-graduate education / degree are desired, and may contribute towards the desired years of experience. 8+ years of significant EHS and / or operational experienced is required. The ideal candidate will work with site management team to coordinate and deliver EHS Training, communication and awareness promotion, liaise with relevant authorities on EHS matters, such as Environmental Protection Agency, Occupational Health and Safety Administration, Local and State Fire authorities, coordinate and lead incident investigation, root cause identification, corrective and preventive action development with other responsible personnel. Administrate the processing of worker’s compensation claims and coordinate the implementation of Sun Pharma USA safety procedures. S/he will also coordinate industrial hygiene projects, work with Plant Managers to organize plant EHS Committee meeting and activities, and drive the establishment of total safety culture and work with Safety Marshalls and committees to conduct EHS self-assessment and evaluation, internal audits, identify gaps and develop action plans to continually improve EHS management systems. The major functions of this position are: managing the team responsible for ensuring specific, daily compliance with regulations, performing regular performance assessments, managing regulatory compliance audits, ensure effective recordkeeping, coordinate leadership reporting, and act in the role of LPCH Hospital Safety Officer. A Bachelor’s degree in a work-related field is required along with five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience, including one (1) year in the specialty area to which assigned.
