President Obama, Justin Trudeau of Canada and Enrique Peña Nieto of Mexico have agreed to produce half of their power by 2025 from hydropower, nuclear, wind, solar and energy storage, while the coal plants would count if they employ carbon capture. TSCA Reform Finally Signed Into Law
The Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act updates the Toxic Substances Control Act, which had not been reauthorized since the mid-1970s. The new law gives the Environmental Protection Agency more oversight and stronger tools to monitor chemicals that in some cases could cause cancer and other health problems in adults and children. As part of the Corporate Governance team, the ideal candidate will have proven ability to manage and implement environmental programs to ensure regulatory compliance globally as well as monitor and analyze trending and emerging issues to ensure the company is positioned to comply with changing regulations and stakeholder expectations. The candidate must have demonstrated ability to translate past performance and future expectations into actionable, focused strategic plans that result in improved performance, reputation and reduced risk. The candidate will have a solid understanding of external stakeholder expectations for environmental and sustainability performance and how to effectively communicate it externally. Experience with creating content for company Citizenship Reports as well as reporting performance through other external groups like DJSI and CDP is a must. The candidate will be able to provide guidance in establishing company targets to drive improved performance that adds business value while leveraging environmentally preferred technologies. Strong database, spreadsheet and other IT skills is needed for successful job execution. A Technical or Bachelor’s Degree in EHS or engineering, with focus on environmental or closely related discipline is required with a post-graduate education / degree are desired, and may contribute towards the desired years of experience. 8+ years of significant EHS and / or operational experienced is required. Professional certification highly desirable.

Associate Director, Environmental Health & Safety

The ideal candidate will work with site management team to coordinate and deliver EHS Training, communication and awareness promotion, liaise with relevant authorities on EHS matters, such as Environmental Protection Agency, Occupational Health and Safety Administration, Local and State Fire authorities, coordinate and lead incident investigation, root cause identification, corrective and preventive action development with other responsible personnel. Administrate the processing of worker’s compensation claims and coordinate the implementation of Sun Pharma USA safety procedures. S/he will also coordinate industrial hygiene projects, work with Plant Managers to organize plant EHS Committee meeting and activities, and drive the establishment of total safety culture and work with Safety Marshalls and committees to conduct EHS self-assessment and evaluation, internal audits, identify gaps and develop action plans to continually improve EHS management systems. A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene or related sciences is required along with a 15 years practical experience in occupational health and safety in a manufacturing environment, preferably a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

They are looking for an EHS Manager. This position is responsible for leading Environmental, Safety & Security to consistently align with and support business results and to ensure that internal/external customer/client service expectations are fulfilled. The position shares ownership with all the associates to ensure a safe and secure environment is in place and the appropriate security, safety and environmental concerns are being addressed at our corporate campus and local remote offices. The position is also responsible for developing and implementing safety programs, administering the corporate ISO Environmental program and ensuring the corporate campus and off-site facilities are properly secured. Strong communication and collaboration with all associates and leaders within the Company to ensure the environmental and safety needs are met. A Bachelor's Degree in an Industrial Safety field is required along with 5+ years of experience in a corporate safety management role. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) desirable. OSHA/EPA familiarity a plus.

The Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager is responsible for the planning, administration and management of safety, health and life safety programs throughout the hospital and all LPCH of-site facilities to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state and federal laws, regulations and standards as well as applicable standards set forth by The Joint Commission. The major functions of this position are: managing the team responsible for ensuring specific, daily compliance with regulations, performing regular performance assessments, managing regulatory compliance audits, ensure effective recordkeeping, coordinate leadership reporting, and act in the role of LPCH Hospital Safety Officer. A Bachelor’s degree in a work-related field is required along with five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience, including one (1) year in the specialty area to which assigned. Knowledge of Federal, State, Local Agency Standards, OSHA, Toxic Waste Disposal Requirements and Environmental Health & Safety Standards is a must along with knowledge of Safety Plan development and General EH&S theory and practice and the knowledge of 7 functional areas of Joint Commission Environment of Care, Emergency Management, Utilities Management, Medical Equipment Management, NFPA, EPA and Security Management.
