This position, reporting to the Sr. Director of HSE, contributes to the success of Pepsi North America Beverages by providing HSE leadership and direction to enable the implementation of an HSE risk management process, as well as assure regulatory compliance, in the dynamic industry of manufacturing, warehousing, direct store delivery and transportation. Position Location can be Flexible.  The successful candidate will be an HSE leader for the company and be able to engage, motivate, and align the NAB organization towards designated HSE objectives, as well as be a part of the development, recommendation, and implementation of division HSE policies and procedures. The candidate is expected to provide collaborative, proactive, and creative problem solving ability to develop best-in-class HSE programs for the improvement of the overall HSE strategy and execution of that strategy execution. A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Transportation or Fleet Safety or related technical discipline is required along with a minimum of 10 years of HSE experience in industry, ideally with at Transportation and Fleet. The ideal candidate must possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of Federal, State, local and higher education regulations and guidelines, standards, principles, procedures, and associated reporting requirements regarding but not limited to accident prevention, risk management, environmental compliance, emergency response operations, occupational health and safety, hazardous materials management, environmental sanitation, asbestos management, fire prevention, food and pool safety, storm water management, air emissions, and indoor air quality.

Director, Environmental Health & Safety

Based in the Center of Excellence in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago, the Director of EH&S will drive initiatives and implementation of programs across North America for the company. The role works in close partnership with senior management to strengthen the organization’s existing program and create new, innovative approaches to ensuring safety. This role ensures that the goals of a safe and healthy work environment are actively pursued throughout the company in an effective and conscientious manner. The Director is responsible for ensuring that the Company has effective policies, procedures, plans, systems, business practices, standards and controls in place to identify, assess, monitor and manage Environmental, Health and Safety risks and impacts of existing and planned operations and to comply with applicable federal and provincial and state laws and regulations. A Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science or related technical field and at least ten years’ experience in the field of Environmental Health and Safety required, preferably in a multi-location environment. 7+ years of Safety/EH&S supervisory and/or management experience is also required. Thorough regulatory knowledge including OSHA, EPA, NFPA, DOT and other regulatory standards applicable to manufacturing, construction, and logistics operations a plus. 30% travel.
