Walmart Launches Sustainability Platform to Reduce 1GT CO2 Emissions Across Value Chain
Walmart is the first retailer to adopt a science-based target emissions-reduction plan, in which it aims to reduce its CO2e emissions by one billion tons between 2015 and 2030. The Center for Retail Compliance Announces Plans to Join NAEM at the 2017 EHS&S Management Forum
Today the National Association for Environmental Management (NAEM) announced they are partnering with the Center for Retail Compliance (CRC) to encourage knowledge-sharing about best practices in environmental compliance. The organizations are working together to ensure a robust conversation about retail-focused challenges during NAEM's annual EHS and Sustainability Management Forum on October 25-27 in Ft. UCSF is seeking an Executive Director of Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) to serve as the lead EH&S official. This leadership position will be required to add immediate value to an exciting, complex, dynamic environment that includes multiple campuses with four professional schools, a graduate division, and ~600 research labs. UCSF is a $5.9 billion enterprise with 3,000 faculty, 22,000 staff, 3 major clinical sites and numerous other clinics. Activities occur in 200+ buildings with almost 10 million gross square feet, with major renovations and new construction occurring on a steady basis.

Director, Sustainability (EHS)

Eaton is a multinational power management company with 2016 sales of $19.7 billion, founded in the United States with corporate headquarters in Dublin, Ireland. Eaton has approximately 95,000 employees and sells products to customers in more than 175 countries. They are looking for an EHS Director. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Environment, Health and Safety (EHS), this role will be responsible to identify, develop and drive execution of enterprise-wide, global sustainability strategy that integrates improving the environment and minimizing harmful effects. In alignment with Eaton’s vision and corporate goals, the strategy will take an active focus on how Eaton creates products and solutions, operates its manufacturing and core functional areas, makes decisions across all aspects of the company’s business processes. This role’s impact will be at all levels of the organization across 4 primary pillars: (i) Strategy, Policy and Governance, (ii) Commercial Front End, (iii) Cultural Change, and (iv) Sustainability Footprint. This role will drive Sustainability’s impact on financial planning, short and long term strategy, organizational capability, and community outreach and involvement. A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution along with 12 years professional work experience is required. 7 years of professional experience in EHS, sustainability, or stewardship is required. MA in EHS preferred.

Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager
Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America; Sparks, Nevada
Panasonic Energy Corporation is collaborating with Tesla Motors Inc. to construct a large-scale advanced battery manufacturing facility known as the Gigafactory. Panasonic's role in the Gigafactory will be to manufacture and supply cylindrical lithium-ion cells and based on the battery demand from Tesla, the Gigafactory is planned to produce cells which will double the world’s current production. They are looking for an EHS Manager at this facility. This person will develop, lead and facilitate company-wide Safety and Environmental Initiatives which include training, safety team, emergency response procedures, plant wide equipment/machinery safety and more. You will also develop full scale manufacturing plant compliance calendar with timelines for all manufacturing plant regulatory and compliance reporting and advise management, operations and engineering regarding environmental and safety requirements. Utilize expertise to create management and employee training and incentive programs. A 4 year degree in safety/regulatory compliance management or comparable college degree with relevant experience is required. The ideal candidates will have 5+ years leading safety, and 10+manufacturing experience regulatory and environmental compliance in a manufacturing environment (Battery or Chemical manufacturing experience strongly desired). Working knowledge of regulatory requirements for OSHA, PPE, MSDS, ROHS to ensure positive interfaces with city, state and other agencies. Working knowledge of ISO 14001 to assist with achieving facility certification.
