Environmental Health & Safety Manager

Xylem is a large American water technology provider, enabling customers worldwide to transport, treat, test and efficiently use water in public utility, residential, commercial, agricultural and industrial settings. Sensus, a Xylem brand, helps a wide range of public service providers – from utilities to cities to industrial complexes and campuses – do more with their infrastructure to improve quality of life in their communities. They are looking for an EHS Manager. The EH&S Manager will be accountable to issue, update and monitor the written programs related to the EHS Department. S/he will serve as the on-site skilled technical resource to the Dubois, Pennsylvania facilities while providing routine consultation to the Uniontown, Pennsylvania business site. S/he will also provide leadership in the EH&S area in a way that incorporates EH&S into the local culture and processes and evaluate current events, regulations and laws in order to ensure that all EH&S programs remain in compliance. A BA or BS Degree in Environmental Health and Safety related science degree such as Biology, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Safety or Environmental Science is required along with a minimum of 4-6 years related experience preferred. An in-depth understanding of federal, state, and local EHS laws preferred. CSP, CIH, or CHMM is preferred.

Director, Safety, Health and Environment (EHS)

Troy's objective is to provide superior products and technology for the needs of customers, drawing on knowledge and expertise gained from serving markets worldwide for over 60 years. They are looking for an EHS Director. The Director of Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) will provide Safety, Health, and Environment leadership for all Troy sites worldwide through the development, execution and continuous improvement of programs, processes and initiatives designed to create a safe, healthy and injury-free work environment. The EHS Director reports to the Vice President of Manufacturing & Engineering and supervises all dedicated SHE personnel across the world. The Director must have a strong knowledge of federal and local SHE regulations, including OSHA, DEP, EPA, and CDC and demonstrate strong knowledge of implementing and managing OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) program. S/he must have experience managing SHE at sites outside of the United States and experience negotiating with local government agencies regarding site compliance. A Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental or Industrial Hygiene or comparable field is required along with a minimum 10 years SHE management experience in technical environment similar to Troy in size, complexity, and international character. 25% travel.

Corporate Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Lead
Spark Therapeutics Inc.; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Spark Therapeutics is a publicly traded, late clinical-stage gene therapy company. They are looking for an EHS Lead. The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Lead will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing Spark’s EHS program. S/he will be responsible for monitoring site activities and ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements at all Spark sites and locations globally (current and future sites). This individual will ensure EHS compliance across multiple functions, and will work closely with R&D, Finance/Procurement, Quality Assurance, Project Management, Facilities and Technical Operations to identify regulated activities. S/he will develop, implement and oversee EHS programs, processes and systems to support Spark’s efforts to achieve and maintain compliance. BS degree in a biology, chemistry or environmental science or related field is required. An advanced degree is preferred. Preferred to have one of the following professional certifications: CIH, CHMM or CSP. A minimum of 10 years' experience in EHS compliance management (with at least 5 years of experience within the pharma/biotech industry) is required. Must have proven/demonstrated work experience in cGMP environment, Chemical Hygiene, Hazard Communications, Biosafety, Bloodborne Pathogens, PPE, General Safety, Hazardous Waste Management and others.

Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager
Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America; Sparks, Nevada
Panasonic Energy Corporation is collaborating with Tesla Motors Inc. to construct a large-scale advanced battery manufacturing facility known as the Gigafactory. Panasonic's role in the Gigafactory will be to manufacture and supply cylindrical lithium-ion cells and based on the battery demand from Tesla, the Gigafactory is planned to produce cells which will double the world’s current production. They are looking for an EHS Manager at this facility. This person will develop, lead and facilitate company-wide Safety and Environmental Initiatives which include training, safety team, emergency response procedures, plant wide equipment/machinery safety and more. You will also develop full scale manufacturing plant compliance calendar with timelines for all manufacturing plant regulatory and compliance reporting and advise management, operations and engineering regarding environmental and safety requirements. Utilize expertise to create management and employee training and incentive programs. A 4 year degree in safety/regulatory compliance management or comparable college degree with relevant experience is required. The ideal candidates will have 5+ years leading safety, and 10+manufacturing experience regulatory and environmental compliance in a manufacturing environment (Battery or Chemical manufacturing experience strongly desired). Working knowledge of regulatory requirements for OSHA, PPE, MSDS, ROHS to ensure positive interfaces with city, state and other agencies. Working knowledge of ISO 14001 to assist with achieving facility certification.
