Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Director

Afton Chemical develops and manufactures petroleum additives, including driveline, engine oil, fuel and industrial additives. Afton Chemical Corporation is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, and has operations around the world. They are looking for an EHS Director. S/he will be responsible for leading the environmental, health and safety (EHS) program across 10 manufacturing sites, 5 R&D centers, all global offices, and the extended value chain. S/he will also provide strategic direction on EHS issues and lead the Responsible Care® and Actively Caring initiatives. This position will manage 3-5 direct and 10 indirect reports. A BS degree in relevant technical field such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Safety, or equivalent is required along with a minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience with at least 10 years of direct EHS experience implementing and managing proven EHS programs and solutions in global multi-site environment. Advanced degree in relevant science or engineering field preferred. Experience in the petrochemical or chemical industry preferred. Professional certification CHMM, CSP, or CIH preferred. Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt/Lean Expert certification preferred.

Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Manager

Henkel is a German chemical and consumer goods company headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany. It is a multinational company active both in the consumer and industrial sector. Founded in 1876, the DAX 30 company is organized into three globally operating business units (laundry & home care, beauty care, adhesive technologies) and is known for brands such as Loctite, Persil, and Fa amongst others. They are looking for an EHS Manager. The Safety, Health, & Environmental (SHE) Manager will be apart of Henkel's Quality group supporting the Beauty & Laundry Business unit. The SHE Manager will report to the NA SHE Director and be located at the new Stamford, CT office; they will have corporate SHE responsibility for Stamford, CT facility as well as support the B&L manufacturing facility in Tumble, CT. This person will have high visibility to senior leaders and needs to be able to influence and communicate effectively. Lastly, the desired candidate will have experience working in a regulated chemical industry and has designed and implemented SHE programs. A Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, or Environmental Science/Engineering is required along with 7-10 years combined experience in Safety and/or Environmental roles in a manufacturing/industrial environment. Must possess a working knowledge of regulatory requirements (i.e. OSHA), SHE Program Management (Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Environmental), Risk Management, Behavior-Based Safety, Training, and Auditing.
