A Sea of Health and Environmental Hazards in Houston's Floodwaters
Harris County, home to Houston, hosts more than two dozen current and former toxic waste sites designated under the federal Superfund program. The sites contain what the Environmental Protection Agency calls legacy contamination: lead, arsenic, polychlorinated biphenyls, benzene and other toxic and carcinogenic compounds from industrial activities many years ago. Its four global business groups (Transportation Americas, Transportation Europe and Rest of World, Industrial Power Americas, and Industrial Power Europe and Rest of World) provide stored electrical energy products and services. They are looking for an EHS Director. The Regional Director, EHS will provide leadership and oversight for EHS functional activities and the performance of multiple Manufacturing and Recycling Operations and Distribution Centers within the Americas Region, establishing strong working relationships with business and functional leaders and plant locations. The Regional Director, EHS directs EHS programs and activities to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations and company policies. The Regional Director, EHS reports directly to the VP EHS. Responsibilities include implementing EHS standards, provides technical assistance on EHS issues, and partnering with the business on compliance, project management, and EHS management issues, and supporting the EHS AOP, STRAP, and Corporate governance processes including, the Assurance Letter, compliance initiatives, governmental reporting, and best practice exchanges. B.S. degree in engineering, manufacturing, safety, environmental science, or related field is required along with fifteen or more years of experience managing EHS requirements in a multi-site manufacturing environment. MS preferred. Professional certification desired (CSP, CIH, CHMM, PE). Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt/Lean Expert certification desirable.

They are looking for an EHS Manager. As the Regional Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for driving the health, safety and environmental functions at multiple plants. The Regional Health and Safety Manager's focus is to manage programs and influence the safety culture. Your technical skills and people skills will influence a safe workplace; ensure compliance and process improvements as it relates to health, safety and environmental programs. This position reports to the plant manager and will be part of the plant management team. You will be asked to support and promote safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements and also provide training and coaching to Health & Safety Representatives to ensure technical competence and leadership development within the plants and across the region. A Bachelor's degree is required along with 8 years of experience in health and safety and/or operations. 5 or more years of experience in environmental, health and safety management in a manufacturing environment is required. 75% travel. ISO14001 experience a plus. VPP audits a plus.

West Coast Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

PepsiCo has interests in the manufacturing, marketing, and distribution of grain-based snack foods, beverages, and other products. They are looking for an EHS Manager. This position contributes to the success of Frito-Lay North America Foods by ensuring regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, and DOT), accident prevention and injury management. This position reports to the Divisional EHS Manager and will work to support implementation of the NAF EHS Management System across a defined region. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in employee safety and environmental regulations as well as have OSHA, EPA, and DOT compliance experience and be highly skilled at implementing processes that will lead to sustained EHS performance improvements. This person is responsible for deploying, implementing, and leading the EHS agenda, throughout the west coast of the US, by supporting the site business unit teams with integration of Safety and Environmental, prevention, workers' compensation and regulatory compliance into everyday work life. The West Coast EHS Manager has responsibility to provide auditing and assessment support, to collect and verify accident data, assist with developing and implementing actionable safety and environmental solutions. The candidate is expected to provide collaborative, proactive, and creative problem solving ability to improve the overall EHS strategy at the appointed location. The role can be based remotely within the region. The candidate can be based remotely across the west coast/region. A Bachelor's Degree with greater than 5 years’ work experience in EHS is required. Environmental or Safety degree and/or related certification a plus. EHS auditing/CSP, CIH, and/or CHMM desirable.
