Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Program Manager II

Calpine Corporation is the largest generator of electricity from natural gas and geothermal resources in the United States, with operations in competitive power markets. They are looking for an EHS Manager. This position is responsible for the implementation of major programs, which may include: Environmental, health & safety, predictive maintenance program, water treatment program, transformer reliability program, incident investigation program, training program, and similar major programs. The programs managed by the Program Manager are to provide consistent implementation of the program throughout the Calpine Fleet, improving operational reliability and efficiency. Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules solutions to program problems and ensures programs are consistently delivered and maintained. The ideal candidate also provides technical guidance to other departments in Calpine, provides technical leadership to both internal and external organizations and entities. Specifically this job posting is responsible for the implementation of a variety of environmental, health and safety programs on a fleet wide basis. Projects include but not limited to, facilitating the implementation and development of strategic EHS projects, monitoring of event trends, participating in incident investigations, communicating process changes, and providing recommendations to Calpine Management regarding critical items. A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in technical engineering and or chemical field of study is required. Also requires 5+ years’ experience.

Regional Safety Manager (3 openings)

Energi is an industrial reinsurance company, provides risk management and insurance solutions for various segments of the energy industry in the United States and Canada. They are looking for an EHS Manager in the U.S. Northeast region. This is an opportunity to work with the regional operation of a dynamic growing company in segments of the United States economy that are growing, providing the next generation of innovation and are an important part of the future of our country. The Regional Loss Prevention Manager will complete compliance audits, deliver safety trainings, and determine if risks meet “Best Practice” guidelines. It requires detailed review of risks, hands on safety training and program development. The goal is to identify and assess risks, effectively implement safety programs to reduce losses on prospective and existing risks. In addition open and clear communication must be maintained with underwriting, claims, broker services and agents. Claims field investigation and sight review for initial claim assessment. Oversee extended environmental cleanups with the ability to manage remediation vendors, contractors, and other vendors. In addition, driving the Mobile Training Center, train our insured’s drivers in a wide variety of driving experiences using a full-vehicle simulator. Bachelor’s degree and Loss Prevention, Risk Management, or Claim designations preferred. Prior experience in fuel distribution, oil and gas exploration, fleet operations, and/or agricultural risk preferred. Four years of experience is preferred. Must be able to meet the medical requirements under FMCSA regulation § 391.41.

Vice President of Safety, Health & Environmental

The Vice President of Safety, Health and Environmental will be responsible for the design, implementation, and communication of all safety programs. S/he will also develop and provide technical and tactical direction to achieve zero harm. Position responsibilities include serving as a strategic partner providing guidance and support to operational leadership in all aspects of safety services, analysis of all incidents to identify frequency and severity trends and develop the appropriate loss control treatment and measurement of same. A Bachelor’s Degree is required along with safety related education i.e. Certified Safety Professional Designation; OSHA and/or MSHA Certification(s). Minimum 10 years of experience in Safety Management. Knowledge of construction industry preferred, but not required. Travel approximately 30% - 50% of the time.
