Environmental Health, Safety & Sustainability Manager

Donnelley Financial Solutions, a leading financial communications firm with global operations, is seeking a high performing Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHS&S) Manager to plan, coordinate, and lead various EHS&S programs. In this newly created position, the focus is to foster and encourage total team commitment for EHS&S excellence while promoting a culture of visible EHS&S awareness for the company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for regulatory assessments and efforts to maintain compliance with local and country environmental, health and safety requirements and apply knowledge of EHS practices to oversee a variety of activities, including but not limited to industrial hygiene, ergonomics, emergency management, environmental protection and occupational safety. S/he will provide support in the areas of Forest Stewardship Council certifications, environmental permitting, spill prevention plans, pollution prevention, waste minimization, employee training, Tier II Reporting, etc. and maintain all necessary records and ensure compliance with reporting requirements. The EHS&S Manager reports directly to the Director of EHS&S and works closely with all business functions, including site operations, technical, and engineering leaders. This position will be located at one of our Lancaster, PA manufacturing facilities and will require 25% travel to support other locations. No relocation provided. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (Science, Engineering) is required along with 10 - 12 years’ experience leading EHS and sustainability efforts in office and manufacturing environments. Global expertise preferred. Excellent understanding of ISO 14001/OHSAS 18001 management systems, OSHA reporting and regulations.

Leading a team and working alongside the VP, the Environmental Director will be tasked with bringing in new business and acting as the liaison between the organization and the client. The Environmental Director will hold a highly visible role within the company and will be expected to travel locally up to 50%. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all environmental permitting and programs of client locations, manage existing client relationships and obtain new ones, interpret regulations and permit requirements into developed and implemented programs and guidance to ensure compliance of all locations and act as the subject matter expert on all environmental compliance rules and regulations. A BS degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field, is required along with 8+ years of Environmental management experience. Must have current or previous consulting experience.

They are looking for an EHS Manager. The ideal candidate will manage initiatives that drive improvements in safety, health and environmental compliance and performance across the business in line with BAEs commitment to Corporate Responsibility, manage Line of Business (LOB) safety programs to achieve and maintain compliance with corporate policies and procedures, federal, state, and local laws, regulations, codes and rules, as well as corporate policies and procedures. S/he will plan, develop, and implement safety and industrial hygiene programs to comply with corporate policies and procedures, federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules. Investigates accidents or employee safety issues and complaints and work with managers, employees, and bargaining unit representatives and leadership to ensure that corrective or preventive measures are taken. Develops and updates LOB safety policies and procedures. A Bachelor's Degree and 15 years work experience or equivalent experience is required. A Master’s degree preferred in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 10 years relevant experience is preferred. Professional SHE Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional or CIH Certified Industrial Hygienist preferred.
