As a key player in the Site Leadership Team reporting directly to the General Manager, the EHS Manager plays an important role in the overall leadership of the site by advancing a culture of EHS excellence where everyone is engaged, empowered and innovative in cultivating a workplace that promotes the safety and health of our employees, contractors, customers, business, local community, and the environment. As a departmental manager, major areas of responsibility include executing strategies, managing systems, developing people and delivering effective communications that ensure the Yazoo City site is operating within all applicable laws and regulations and in a safe, environmentally responsible manner. Key areas include environmental, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, process safety, emergency response, crisis communications and quality/lab services. This position is also the liaison with multiple stakeholders within and outside the organization, in both the public and private sector. A Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis in Safety, Health and Environmental or an Engineering degree in a related field is required along with a minimum of 10 years of directly-related experience in the environment and safety field, preferably in the chemical industry, with demonstrated knowledge of safety and environmental regulations. At least 5 years of experience a managerial role.

Investigate and perform root cause analysis of safety incidents including reportable injuries, near misses and SIF (serious injury or fatality) incidents. High School Diploma or GED equivalent required along with a minimum 1 year of Health & Safety experience. The Global Environmental Program Manager serves as the company’s lead EHS subject matter expert on: technical and regulatory aspects, EHS management systems, technical standards, and EHS best practices. The Global Environmental Program Manager is accountable for the design, development, authoring and deployment of company-wide compliance assurance programs; providing comprehensive risk analysis and risk management actions; leading continuous improvement actions, programs or processes on compliance assurance, incident prevention, injury prevention, pollution prevention and other EHS performance indicators; managing incident investigation and corrective measure implementation; and evaluating and implementing EHS best practices to continuously improve compliance and management effectiveness. A BS or MS in environmental, health, safety or scientific or engineering field is required along with 10+ years’ experience in an EHS programs, operations or engineering function within Fortune 500 multi-national companies.10+ years’ experience of applied international EHS compliance management, including regulatory and permitting in North America, South America, EMEA and Asia-Pacific regulatory jurisdictions also required along with 5+ years’ experience managing global EHS policies, standards, programs, or procedures and 3+ years’ experience in OHSAS18001, ISO14001, ISO 45001 or similar accredited EHS management systems. Advanced degrees in safety/industrial/quality engineering, safety or other science or engineering discipline from an accredited university preferred. EHS professional membership preferred. Advanced membership, registration and/or certification for OHSAS18001, ISO14001, ISO 45001, ISO9001 or similar accredited EHS management systems preferred.
