OSHA Cracks Down on Failure to File Electronic Injury Reports
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has ordered its inspectors to crack down on employers who failed to electronically file their 300A, 300 Log and 301 injury report forms. According to OSHA, a little more than a third of workplaces that were required to respond did not file the reports.

Director, Environmental Management, Health & Safety (EHS)

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Environmental Management, Health and Safety to join the Legrand North & Central America Team. The environmental health and safety (EHS) director assists the VP of Energy Efficiency, Sustainability and Public Policy, in consultation with leadership from Human Resources and Operational Excellence, in developing the company’s EHS goals and strategy and ensures that the health, safety, and environmental impact policies of the company are being successfully implemented. This is a managerial position largely carried out in an office environment, though the EHS Director shall regularly tour facilities to personally inspect operations and communicate with different departments. The scope of responsibility extends to management teams and employees in the US, Canada, Mexico, Central America and operations units Greater China. Beyond compliance, the EHS Director develops and implements programs and processes that support Legrand’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) priorities related to the environment, health and safety, and the achievement of related, multi-year goals. Minimum qualifications for an EHS director position are a bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety management or related field and at least ten years of on-the-job experience in implementing environmental, health and safety programs. The position requires strong managerial, communication, and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work in both a team and independently. The successful applicant will also have strong program management skills and experience, and will have demonstrated the ability to guide, educate and influence colleagues to adopt the necessary processes and behaviors that are hallmarks of a deep culture of environmental management, health and safety. The candidate must also be able to handle high-stress emergency situations. Relevant OSHA and ISO certifications are strongly preferred.

Georgia-Pacific has an immediate opening for an experienced and talented Sr. Manager – Environmental to support our Consumer Products Operations. The Sr. Manager – Environmental creates value by providing strategic environmental leadership to the facilities in the Consumer Products Group and by leveraging our Risk Management System to identify and mitigate risk. This role serves to proactively develop and align divisional environmental strategies consistent with our environmental vision. The selected individual will drive environmental excellence and competitive position through culture change and effective, sustainable management systems. The selected individual will mentor and build the capability of our environmental leaders and professionals while directly supporting our facility operations leadership and teams. This role could be Atlanta and/or remotely based and reports to the Director – Environmental CPG Consumer. The ideal candidate must be able to embrace and lead change, possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to efficiently balance multiple priorities. The position requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of audiences. The successful candidate must also lead by example, be self-motivated, possess strong analytical skills, exhibit sound decision-making, and have proficient organizational skills. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Science, Environmental Management, or related Discipline is required along with seven (7) or more years environmental compliance and management systems experience. Pulp and paper process and regulatory knowledge preferred along with Twelve (12) or more years environmental compliance and management systems experience.

Vice President, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)

ISRI is the voice of the recycling industry, promoting safe, economically sustainable and environmentally responsible recycling through networking, advocacy, and education. They are looking for a VP of EHS. Reporting to the President, and serving as an integral member of ISRI’s senior management team, the Vice President (VP) of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) manages all elements of ISRI’s environmental, health and safety programs (including facility operations and transportation) and Staff in an effort to advance EHS as a Core Value for ISRI and the industry it represents. The VP is responsible for providing industry leadership and strategic direction for ISRI’s EHS programs, while working with volunteer leadership and staff to develop the needed EHS tools including safety initiatives, programs and training to assist the membership in developing safer and environmentally compliant workplaces. As the voice of the association on EHS, the VP ensures that ISRI’s message is conveyed to members and others through all appropriate communication vehicles. Further, as the voice of the industry on EHS, the VP works with the appropriate regulatory agencies in an effort to elevate the industry’s efforts. A Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field, preferably science along with an advanced degree and/or professional certifications a plus. A Minimum of 7 years of Safety and/or EHS experience, as well as experience managing people is required with a minimum of 10-15 of progressive program development experience.
