S/he will also conduct routine safety observations to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, company EHS policies, procedures and practices and provide personnel with comprehensive and relevant information and training on EHS systems and procedures, including advising on equipment purchase and workplace practices. 5 - 7 years’ experience in manufacturing environment with responsibility for Environmental, Health and Safety is required. This leadership role has primary responsibility to: continuously improve employee safety performance to world-class standards; ensure compliance and a positive safety culture; implement EHS policies, programs, procedures, standards, training, and processes; and drive sustainability initiatives. The EHS Manager will also interfaces with local management, employees and members of the regulatory community. S/he will be asked to implementing strategies for EHS, to ensure effective utilization of resources within the geographical region, while providing support to all applicable locations, partner with Business Unit staff and operations teams, to ensure EHS is integrated into business processes, to achieve site business objectives and facilitate communication within the region, to share problems, best practices and lessons learned. They are currently seeking a Regional EH&S Manager based out of one of our NJ/NY to New England offices. This position will report to the Director of Environmental Health & Safety. The role will provide safety and risk management leadership, teamwork, coordination, and expertise across divisional operations to help ensure sharing of best practices and/or preferred procedures. This person will help to ensure the company maintains compliance with federal, state, and local laws/regulations and internal policies and procedures. Key objectives of the position are to: Anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices; Develop hazard control designs, methods, procedures, and programs; Implement, administer, and advise others on hazard controls and related programs; Measure, audit, and evaluate the effectiveness of hazard controls and related processes. A four year college degree and/or equivalent related experience is required along with a minimum of eight years of senior level safety leadership experience in the wholesale distribution or construction industry. Preferred certifications include: Occupational Health & Safety technologist. 75% travel.
