Trump Says He'll Nominate Andrew Wheeler to Head the E.P.A.
President Trump said he intends to nominate Andrew R. Wheeler, a former coal lobbyist, to be the permanent administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. Mr. Wheeler joined the E.P.A. in April as deputy administrator. After Scott Pruitt's departure, Mr. Trump appointed him to lead the agency on an interim basis. Read more

NAEM Announces New Benchmarking Forum for Senior EHS and Sustainability Leaders
The National Association for Environmental Management (NAEM) today announced the addition of the EHS&S Roundtable to its portfolio of benchmarking services for corporate EHS and Sustainability leaders. With about 5000 members, NAEM is the leader in professional development for mid-level corporate managers of environment, health and safety and sustainability (EHS&S). They are looking for an EHS Director. The Aptar Global Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Director will work collaboratively with business leadership to ensure the ongoing safety of employees, in addition to ensuring compliance with Aptar’s EHS Management System and other regulatory requirements. This individual will ensure a high focus on critical risk areas and safe work environment priorities, leadership alignment and direction, employee engagement and the ongoing development of safety values and culture. The Director will take ownership and lead all global safety initiatives such as but not limited to Behavior Based Safety, Incident Management and Incident Recordkeeping. The Director will coordinate and assist Regional and Site EHS&S Leaders with implementation of corporate and regional programs including but not limited to the Aptar EHS MS requirements, policies, processes, continuous improvement programs, auditing & assessments, communications and environmental & property risk recommendations. The Director will also have full responsibility of the EHS data management system and work closely with the vendor and end users to ensure the system serves Aptar’s needs effectively. A degree in engineering, environmental management or related field is required along with a minimum of 12 years experience. Master’s degree is preferred, global experience preferred. CSP a plus. Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator

Isolatek International, the industry leader in the marketing and manufacturing of passive fire protection materials for the construction industry has an immediate opening for a full time Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator in our Operations Services Department at its corporate headquarters. The EHS Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordinating the implementation of environmental, health and safety policies at Isolatek International office, manufacturing, and R&D locations. You will also provide guidance, audit, and accurately report compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations and carry out various regulatory-related activities such as filing reports, delivering permit modifications, etc. in conjunction with consultants and regulatory agencies associated with all Isolatek manufacturing sites. You will be asked to lead the ongoing implementation and optimization of a compliance management system including compliance calendars at each facility designed to monitor, report, and assure compliance. Ability to analyze and interpret regulatory correspondence, professional journals, and governmental regulations is required.

Senior Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHSS) Specialist

The ideal candidate will drive companywide EHSS initiatives as a technical resource to TWG management and staff and assist plant management and staff in creating accountability for health, safety, and security program responsibilities by conducting program and facility audits, fostering peer to peer interaction and involvement, and assisting in the development and rollout of policies and training. You will also serve as a technical EHSS resource to all TWG personnel and proactively identify and interpret new and existing laws, rules, and regulations applicable to the company and recommend the most appropriate compliance strategy. A bachelor’s degree in related field is required plus a minimum of 5 years EHSS management experience in a manufacturing setting. Working knowledge of general industry and construction safety and health standards (OSHA, Cal-OSHA) preferred, familiarity with EPA, DHS, NFPA, ANSI and other regulatory/advisory agencies preferred. CSP desired.
