OSHA Lessens Reporting Obligation for Most Employers

In 2018, 115 companies wielding a combined purchasing power in excess of $3.3T, requested environmental information from 5,500+ of their key suppliers. Suppliers reported emissions reductions of 633M metric tons of carbon dioxide, leading to collective cost savings of US$19.3bn.

A report published by the Government Accountability Office focused on financial accounting that detailed just how muddled the government's data on climate change spending can be, and how that means Americans (citizens and politicians alike) are woefully ignorant of what the government is and isn't doing to reduce the risks. The position supports the development, implementation and administration of all aspects of Safety and Environmental programs within the perimeter. A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate technical discipline (such as Chemical/Environmental/Safety Engineering or related area) is required along with 5-8 years’ experience in a mining or mining-related operations environment, with specific experience with MSHA regulations, standards and practices preferred. The Safety Director must also work closely with other company personnel (e.g. Engineering, Human Resources, Operations, Maintenance, and Quality Control). BA/BS in a safety science/engineering/industrial hygiene discipline. Masters preferred. CSP/OSHA 30 a plus.

The Safety Manager will be primarily responsible for providing leadership and direction for the continuous improvement of Safety, Security and Environmental (SSE) performance across all facilities. This position will interact regularly with work group and other departments at the primary work locations. 2 year associate degree in environmental, health and safety or related field with 2 + years of similar experience in a manufacturing environment with an emphasis on the development, implementation and auditing of SSE programs and corrective actions required. Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR & EPA 40 CFR regulations. BA in EHS field preferred.
