Unilever To Halve Use Of New Plastic
Unilever said it will cut its use of new plastic by half by 2025, admitting the move was partly to appeal to young, more environmentally-conscious customers. The firm will cut annual use from the current 700,000 tons of new plastic a year to no more than 350,000 tons. The world produces more than 300 million tons of plastics annually, the UN says, with much of it ending up in the oceans.

EHS Manager

FUJIFILM engages in medical and life sciences, electronic, chemical, graphic arts, information systems, broadcast, and photography. They are looking for an EHS Manager. The Manager, Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) will report to the National Manager, EHS and be responsible for managing the EHS support for the FUJIFILM Sonosite operations (Bothell, Toronto and other smaller facilities). The EHS Manager will also support other facilities in the Northwest United States. The EHS Manager will reinforce Fujifilm's leadership values by transforming EHS area into a sustainability focused, proactive operation that will help drive Fujifilm's vision. General responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Provide Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) support to the FUJIFILM Sonosite in Bothell;  Provide Shared Services to other affiliated Sonosite companies including Visual Sonics in Toronto and the repair center in Amsterdam; Drive EHS excellence at the designated facilities; Support sustainability programs for the designated facilities. A B.S. in Engineering or Science or equivalent work experience in the EHS field is required along with 5-7 years of progressive responsibilities. Advanced degree or certification(s) a plus.

Corporate EHS Manager

Beacon is one of the largest distributors of residential and non-residential roofing and complementary building products in North America. They are looking for an EHS manager who will provide safety and risk management leadership, teamwork, coordination, and expertise across divisional and/or regional operations to help ensure sharing of best practices and/or preferred procedures. Position helps to ensure the company maintains compliance with federal, state, and local laws/regulations and internal policies and procedures. Key objectives of the position are to: Anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices; Develop hazard control designs, methods, procedures, and programs; Implement, administer, and advise others on hazard controls and related programs; Measure, audit, and evaluate the effectiveness of hazard controls and related processes. Four-year college degree and/or equivalent related experience is required. Minimum of eight years of senior level safety leadership experience in the wholesale distribution or construction industry. Preferred certifications include: Occupational Health & Safety technologist (OHST), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Associate Risk Management (ARM) credentials. 75% travel.

EHS Due Diligence & Remediation Program Manager

Amazon is a multinational technology company based in Seattle that focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence. They are looking for an EHS Manager who will be responsible for partnering with various stakeholders and teams around the world to support real estate transactions. You will perform transaction related due diligence, scope and manage remediation projects, develop Amazon standards and policy, and implement and execute the requirements of the program. In this role, you will assist in managing these programs at the corporate level and ensure that EHS-related risks and liabilities are appropriately evaluated and mitigated as part of their transactions. A Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, or related field of study, is required along with 8+ years of experience serving as an environmental technical resource, program specialist, or project manager. Must possess knowledge and experience of ASTM Phase I standards and other environmental protocols, understand core business and legal concepts of business transactions, with continued interest in working on transactions.

Senior EHS Project Manager

Apex offers comprehensive professional and field services to assess, prevent, and cure environmental issues related to water, ground, facilities, and air quality. They are looking for an EHS manager who will develop safety strategies and training packages, including a focus on Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other applicable global regulatory compliance. S/he will also develop and foster a strong cultural attitude toward safety within all business units and interpret, implement and verify compliance with applicable Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required along with 8 years related experience. 5 years of experience as safety professional, including experience with loss control and prevention measures, conducting training and making presentations a plus. CSP a plus.
