2019 Drowsy Driving Prevention Week
The National Safety Foundation's goal is to reduce the number of drivers who elect to drive while sleep deprived. Drowsy driving is responsible for more than 6,400 U.S. deaths annually. Millions of Americans also experience excessive sleepiness as a result of sleep disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea and narcolepsy. NSF encourages everyone to prioritize sleep and drive when alert and refreshed. NSF has published a tool to calculate the cost of fatigue in the workplace.

Owens Corning operates more than 140 manufacturing facilities world-wide, with 60 manufacturing facilities across North America. Our sites are subject to a wide range of regulatory requirements related to air emissions. The Senior Air Permitting Lead is a newly created position to provide corporate oversight to Air Emissions compliance management across Owens Corning. This role will be centered on standard management systems to reduce regulatory risk in North America and will work closely with the Environmental Leaders of each Owens Corning business, corporate Environmental Engineering, and the corporate Regulatory Law department. This role also includes global responsibilities, working closely with global regional Environmental Leaders. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or another technical field is required along with 6 years direct management of Title V permitting and 10 years with air permitting in general. ISO 14001 experience a plus. 50% travel.

Corporate EHS Manager
Danone North America; Broomfield, Colorado
Danone is a multinational foods company. They are looking for an EHS Manager who will be responsible for the development and execution of safety, health and environmental programs for our HQ Offices, Sales Offices, Remote Sales Employees, Research & Innovation sites and small business locations across Danone North America. The position will also lead EHS projects in support of all Danone North America locations and employees. This position will ensure a safe workplace for employees and minimizes impacts to the environment and will lead compliance efforts with internal (Danone) and external (federal, state, and local) environmental, health, and safety regulations. The incumbent will animate and implement a sustainable environmental, health and safety and environmental management systems and drive EHS performance improvement and efficiency. This position will participate in the Danone North America EHS Network. A Bachelors or Master’s in safety, environmental health, chemistry, human resources or organizational management is required along with 7+ years of EHS experience (plant, distribution, service organization, etc.). HAZMAT, OSHA, WISE a plus. 30% travel.

Merck is a global health care leader with a diversified portfolio of prescription medicines, vaccines and animal health products. They are looking for an EHS Director who will be accountable for all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) program execution and compliance for manufacturing at MMD Animal Health Small Molecule (Pharm) Sites. You will lead all site EHS leaders and influences site, region and global business partners to drive prioritization of regulatory compliance, continuous performance improvement, and integration of EHS performance objectives into standard work processes. You will also model strong compliance mind set, draws on direct manufacturing pharmaceutical experience and develops strategies to achieve these goals in alignment with company business goals and values.A Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering or related science is required. Robust skills interpreting and applying regulatory frameworks such OSHA, OHSAS 18000, EPA, ISO, NFPA, GMP is required. CIH, CSP, PE, CQA or lean sigma preferred. MBA, MS, PhD preferred.

Regional EHS Manager
Safway Atlantic LLC; Cincinnati, Ohio or Indianapolis, Indiana
Safway is a scaffolding and crane company. They are looking for an EHS Manager who will interview, hire, train, and manage each safety manager within assigned safety region. The ideal candidate will also observe area EHS Managers conducting training classes, safety meetings, and field observations and provide ongoing performance monitoring and mentoring including quarterly review of goals and job shadowing. This person will also assist with resolving issues that he/she may encounter and compile regional safety data and provide management reports regarding the work activities accomplished by the safety region. Above average knowledge of and experience with the OSHA, DOT, MSHA, EPA, and NFPA regulatory requirements is required. Must be knowledgeable in OSHA’s recordkeeping requirements. 50% travel. Must have 5 years safety management in the construction industry. Precarious work situation, up to and over 100 foot work environments; may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals in hazardous waste facilities.
